When it comes to beaches you will not get much better than the beach at Obzor. The sand is hot and powder soft with clear water lapping gently onto the shore. The public beach has sunbeds available for hire, although if you choose a beach front hotel with its own private beach then you can make use of their free sunbeds and entertainment at the beach.
As with many of the beaches on the Black Sea Coast of Bulgaria your holiday in Obzor will provide you an array of watersports, but do not worry if you are the type of tourist who just wants to feel the radiant sun on your skin then join the many other beach goers like you and enjoy the music of the sea as it gently ebbs and flows.
For a little of excitement why not do a little exploring at Obzor beach, you never know you might even find the small hidden cove down at the end of the beach, you will think you have just discovered your own beach paradise.
There is a full range of restaurants, from classy to the not as classy. One thing you will find out while staying in Obzor is that like all other Bulgarian resorts the cost of living is brilliant. The most expensive you will pay for a night out for a family of four, two courses, drinks and tip should come to around 150 Leva (approx. £60). More likely though, if you have not chosen a cheap all inclusive in Obzor you will be choosing the more budget friendly establishments for general day to day eating. As a guide a family of four for lunch and drinks can expect to pay around 30 Leva (approx. £16) and for dinner and drinks around 55 Leva (approx. £25). Beer is approx. £1.00 a pint, a bottle of wine in a restaurant on average is £7.00.
If you are looking a holiday with plenty of nightlife then Obzor will not be suited to you. Nightlife in Obzor is just that, looking up to the sky and smelling the hot air. If you are eating in your restaurant you will most likely stay on for evening drinks and make do with what entertainment the restaurant has laid on. If you have booke a good all inclusive to Obzor than you may have evening entertainment, perhaps a kids disco or some live music.
On the whole though all entertainment in Obzor is very discreet, but a 5 minute taxi journey into Sunny Beach will soon give you a whole other side to Bulgaria.
Fresh fruit is one of the best buy’s here. Come in June and a normal plastic type shopping bag filled with cherries will cost no more than £5. A bargain considering a small tub at UK supermarkets cost around the same. Large bunches of juicy grapes freshly picked are a must buy, and generally the worst looking oranges are always the juiciest.
Shopping is no big matter and there is lots of souvenir type stores and stalls but nothing much more unless you go to the stores the locals shop at. Prices are very cheap and leather and fair hats and coats can be got rather cheaply. If you fancy bringing back a memento from your holiday in Obzor then go to one of the woodworking craft stalls and purchase one of the home maid jewellery boxes, they are just stunning.
