Located on western shoreline of the Lago Maggiore and a mere 2 miles from Stresa, all inclusive Baveno holidays may be more than an hour away from Milan but is only 30 miles away from the nearest airport. The main Baveno resort is right on the lakeside opposite the islands of Borromean with a backdrop of hills.
Baveno may be small compared to other resorts, such as Stresa but it has many features going for it and a lovely marina area. You will be sure to enjoy life around the lakeside promenade. Be careful of the busy road though, lots of blind spots make it difficult to cross. Be sure to use the traffic lights to make crossing easier.
A Baveno holiday has not a lot of nightlife, thus it is perhaps better suited to the older tourist or even those with very young children. Baveno definitely is not the resort to holiday in if you want nightlife.
There is some decent accommodation within Baveno, all inclusive may be a little scarce on the ground but the traditional Italian Lake type hotel and a choice of self-catering apartments are available to be book.
Shopping in Baveno:
Baveno provides some fairly decent holiday shopping with a good resort centre that is cheaper than some other resorts. The Monday morning market is a sight not to be missed, remember to barter. Down by Lago Maggiore you will get the usual souvenir shops, so use these to bring something back that will remind you of just what a fantastic holiday you had in Baveno.
With an assortment of walks of different levels if you feel active you will want to seek out one of these. There is the usual cruises that can be expect on the lake but other than that I am afraid you will have to make your own entertainment for your holiday in Baveno to not be too dull.
Eating in Baveno:
Baveno is the classic type resort, where you will want to take as much advantage as you can and eat alfresco. Restaurants stretch to yummy pizzerias and the characteristic coffee shops. There are a few more upmarket type restaurants that are up by the main road that you may want to make use off.
