A quiet beach resort on scenic rocky coast of Sicily

Go on all inclusive Marina d’Agro holidays and you will get a small old-style Sicilian village resort as a backdrop to an appealing shingle beach. Tourists can get to the beach by going down the stairway of a rocky ridge. Tourist with mobility problems or with young children may find this a daunting task and would be advised to try one of the other nearby manageable beaches along the Ionian coast.

The resort of Marina d’Agro itself is private, refined village that has a few all inclusive and family hotels. For groups and families wanting some privacy there are villas with pools that you can rent out within the general area. Your accommodation will have one thing in common; they offer outstanding sights of the sea and the area’s hardy surroundings.

Location

If you are starting your Marina d’Agro holiday by flying into Catania Airport the transfer is quite long taking anything from 60 to 90 minutes. The main city in this region is Catania is 40 miles down the coast. The best known resort in Sicily is only five minutes away by taxi.

Sightsee at Taormina or have a ball at Giardini Naxos

Tourists on holidays in Marina d’Agro will undoubtedly want to experience the cable car ride that takes you from Marina d’Agro to Taormina. This may be a brief journey but the scenery is so beautiful you will be in awe.

Shopping

While you are in Taormina you can enjoy the shopping in local fashion shops and when you have had enough shopping you can sample the delicacies at one of the many delicious restaurants or trendy cafes.

Sightseeing

The Teatro Greco is probably one of the must see things while on all inclusive holidays in Marina d’Agro and visiting Taormina. This is the ruins of a classical theatre which was made by the Greeks, and later recreated by the Romans in the first century A.D. to hold gladiatorial tournaments. The ancient streets house many other Roman remains, you will enjoy a day visiting these.

Nightlife

If you wat to have a night out with good nightlife while staying in Marina d’Agro try neighbouring Giardini Naxos. It is best to take a taxi to here as it should take less than 30 minutes. If you take a bus it can take more than an hour. Some of the hotels here also accommodate discos at certain times, check their schedule before leaving.

Dine al fresco and appreciate superb views of the bay

The entertainment while in Marina D’Agro is a simple attraction. At night you can experience the amazing view out across the bay of the glowing Mount Etna. The food you will be enjoying in this region will be tasty pizza, pasta and seafood dishes.  The sweet tasting Sicilian wine made at one of the local wineries.

August sees the highest temperatures for holidaymakers enjoying cheap holidays in Marina D’Agro all inclusive, reaching an impressive 31C. If this sounds too hot try a little earlier in the season, May and October reach a pleasant 23-24C. Remember to bring your sun lotion to protect your skin.
