Once a tiny village in Portugal’s Algarve all inclusive Guia today, is the place where celebrities such as Sir Cliff Richard own bungalows and villas. Just a ten minute drive from the hustle and bustle of Albufeira; Guia is located to the west of Albufeira. Still retaining much of its olden charm, holidays all inclusive in Guia offer you a slice of traditional Portugal.

You’ll find plenty tavernas on the main street along with loads of bars, restaurants and cafes. When you’re not soaking up sun on the beach, or checking out the shops in town, you can head to the nearby resorts of Vilamoura, Albufeira and Loule for some sightseeing and shopping.

Beach:

Being just a bit inland, cheap all inclusive holidays in Guia does not have its own beach. Though, you’ll find some really amazing beaches around the village. A ten minute drive gets you to the nearest beach at Gale. The blue flag golden sandy beach at Gale comes with parasols and loungers, a trio of beach bars and plenty of water sports.

Another fine beach in close proximity is the Praia dos Pescadores or the fishermen’s beach at Albufeira. The flat sands and shallow calm waters here make it the ideal beach for tiny tots and novice swimmers.

Nightlife:

The nightlife offered on holidays in Guia is very limited and low key with most of the activity confined to the bars and restaurants in town. Typical evenings in Guia include enjoying a few drinks at one of the Tavernas or bars in town, followed a scrumptious meal of mouth-watering local delicacies including the famous piri-piri chicken. Meanwhile those of you looking for something livelier can head to the Albufeira main strip. The nightlife in Albufeira is very varied and offers something to cater to everyone’s tastes.

When to go:

During the peak season time, the temperatures soar up to the thirties during the day and night-time temperatures range around 18°C. There is hardly any rain during the summer season apart from a few showers that come as a pleasant relief in the heat. The resort can be quite crowded during the months of July and August and also during Easter holidays when kids start their holidays. If you plan to escape the crowds and visit during the months from October to April, you’ll experience pleasanter temperatures and no crowds. Though some of the water parks might remain closed in off season.
