For something more laid-back, Avli Restaurant in Kardamena offers a fantastic range of traditional Greek dishes. I joined a group of friends from Birmingham who were all about the moussaka and souvlaki. “Best Greek food we have had!” they exclaimed.

Score: 4/5 – Great atmosphere and authentic dishes, though service can be slower during busy periods​​.

Paradise Beach in Kefalos lives up to its name with golden sands and clear waters. I met a solo traveller from London sunbathing and reading. “It’s so relaxing here, the perfect escape” she said.

I joined a group of university students who where from Leeds enjoying the nightlife scene. “Its the best place we have beem to for a party, definitely the best place on the island,” they said.
