My wife and I have recently finished an outstanding week at the Socrates. First of all the rooms are immaculate, cleaned out every day. The pool is terrific complimented by the lovely tranquil apartments, which are far enough from the noise but close enough to walk to the brilliant restaurants of Stalis. We would suggest Socrates to any people that are after a relaxed holiday, we would go back tomorrow if we could. Thanks a lot for a lovely holiday.

I am just got back after a two week holiday in Stalis at the Socrates. We had an incredible time and found the apartments spotless with housekeeping every day and staff were pleasant and very caring. The hotel is located in a quiet area, but not far away from Stalis or Malia. If you are looking nice food when down at the beach for your lunch give the windmill bar a try, it is quite cheap. Another is Odas restaurant in Malia old town, this only opens at night though, food is outstanding here. If you like steak, and Sunday roasts Mambos restaurant on the road along the beach leading into Stalis is brilliant. DV8 bar which is just a bit away from the Socrates do a good breakfast and a good spot for a drink. The beach is beautiful with warm water and nice and sandy. We hopped on the bus a few times to go to Hersonissos, but the happy train that runs around the resort is a cost effective mode of transport.

The Socrates are sparkling clean, the maids changed towels about 5 times per week and cleaned the room every day. The staff were brilliant, I could not say enough about the friendly staff, they could not do enough for you. It would be unfair of me to pick out which member of staff was best, so I would just like to thank them all for a wonderful holiday.
