When to go on Marmaris holidays

It’s busy, busy, busy in the summer peak season when the schools are on holiday, so if you prefer a slightly quieter break, choose a time when the kids are at school. All inclusive holidays to Marmaris deliver beautiful weather right through from May to the end of October, and it can get extremely hot and humid during July and August, best avoided if you prefer heat without the stickiness.

Marmaris in winter is sleepy and mellow, with many places closed, but it’s perfect for walking, shopping, Turkish baths and eating out, as well as exciting excursions to Ephesus, Istanbul, Dalyan and any number of pretty local towns and villages.

In April it’s 21C or so during the day and 11C at night. In May it’s 25C daytime, 15C at night. In June it gets hotter. But July and August, at 34C and 33C during the day and 19C/22C respectively at night, is as hot as it gets!

Airport and transport need to know

You’ll fly into Dalaman airport (DLM), which is used to getting thousands of revellers through the gates and on their way safely in no time. Yes, it gets busy, but they do an admirable job and the airport is full of handy facilities. It’s around 60 miles from the airport to Marmaris, which takes around and hour and three quarters by car. A return journey ought to cost you around £19 per person by shuttle bus or £140 per vehicle for a return journey by private taxi for 1-4 people.

There are low cost local buses and minibuses from Dalaman itself, six miles from the airport, which run frequently and connect the town with nearby Ortaca, Dalyan, Koycegiz and Marmaris to the west. You can fly direct to Dalaman airport from all over Britain, including the London airports and a good choice of regional airports that will connect you on a holiday to Marmaris like Belfast, Birmingham, Bournemouth and Bristol. The Atlantis Waterpark

The Atlantis waterpark will be great for people while on all inclusive holidays in Marmaris. It is stuffed with plenty of daring water-rides, drops and tunnels to keep kids and adults bust for the duration of your holiday. The park also offers a private beach, bowling alley, dinning and bar.

Scuba Diving

Scuba diving while on holiday in Marmaris has plenty of options and there are numerous certified professionals who will provide short, inexpensive courses. Keep an eye out for the Marmaris Diving Centre that is located on a boat near the local tourist centre.
