Situated on the Southern Coast Marsascala is only 7 miles away from Valletta and a mere 5 minute transfer from the nearest airport making it an ideal choice for families with kids who want to try Malta for their holidays.

The pretty cove provides good swimming and a choice of water sports, and although this is best described as a humble fishing village the pretty cove with promenade will give you hours of fun on your holidays in Marsascala.

Although there are only a few hotels within Marsascala, and all inclusive being a popular option if you can get it. There are other types of holiday lodging available with the majority being self-catering.

Beaches in Marsascala:

The beach in Marsascala may be fairly limited and can get rather crowded during peak season. The flat sand coloured rocks provide the majority of the sun bathing with a lovely bit of golden sand leading to the water.

Shopping:

If you are staying self-catering in Marsascala you can be assured that plenty of food supply shops lie on your doorstep. If you are wanting much more than that then you may be disappointed with the souvenir selling trinket shops. Some good buys are the Maltese pottery and ornaments to remind you of your time in Marsascala.

Entertainment:

Marsascala is quite a family orientated resort and there are activities for kids that will keep them occupied while you get on enjoying your holiday. There is a selection of water sporting activities as seen in most holiday resorts these days. Perhaps you would enjoy one of the organised walks around the town.

Come evening and you will see the bay in all its elegance. There are a selection restaurants and bars to choose from, although you will probably for the most use your hotel for evening entertainment. Being a fishing village means that the fish on the menu is always going to be good, try the fish restaurants for a delicious meal.

Taxi’s and public transport run regular services to Valletta through Zabbar. Hire a scooter for a day and head inland and visit the laid back villages of Malta.
